Sustainably- Grown Raw Lumber For Sale
Historical Woods of America has teamed up with Mr. John Burke, of Burke Woodlands, a certified family forest in Woodford Virginia, to provide our customers with a variety of sustainably-grown hardwood and softwood lumber.
In Addition, we can provide high quality finished products such as architectural moulding, flooring, and v-match paneling.
This material is harvested from a sustainably managed family forest in historic Caroline County Virginia, and is some of the finest quality lumber on the market today.
Currently, we have an assortment of high quality 4/4, 5/4 and 6/4 dimensional lumber, most of which is FAS grade, in random widths and 8-12' long. This lumber is air dried (4-7 yrs depending on species).
A portion of the stock will be kiln dried soon, or, if you have a need for a specific quantity or species for an upcoming project that has not been kiln dried, let us know and we'll have it dried for you.
Available dimensional lumber:
Walnut 80% FAS grade- 4,400 bdft.
Eastern Red Cedar mixture of clear & knotty- 3,000 bdft.
Quarter Sawn White Oak FAS grade- 1,670 bdft.
Also available from Burke Woodlands are several highly figured natural edged crotch slabs and flitch sawn boards, 6/4- 8/4 thick, in various widths and lengths that were recently sawn and stacked en boule.
Available figured slabs:
Walnut, 6-8/4, 12-28" wide, some with amazing crotch figure - 1,620 bdft.
Ambrosia Maple,6-8/4, 12-28" wide with random burl and curl figure- 950 bdft.
Sycamore, 6-8/4, 12-28" wide, nice color, some spalting, some quarter sawn- 400 bdft.
More Figured Slabs Available:
Historical Woods of America has a wide variety of highly figured natural edged flitch sawn slabs that are for sale as well as the lumber mentioned above. We have a great selection of large Cherry, Walnut, River Birch, Osage Orange, and others that range in size from 5/4x16x4' long, to huge walnut crotch slabs that are 8/4x60"(at widest point)x 10' long, and a variety of sizes in between. Ninety percent of these slabs have been kiln dried.
We also have a nice selection of various highly figured turning blanks available for purchase.
